About Dr. Brubaker

As an undergrad Jon was bored out of his mind taking accounting classes.  After switching to the Exercise Science major, Jon attended the National Strength & Conditioning Association’s national convention where he was exposed to dozens of topics and professionals in healthcare and fitness.  He became fascinated with the physical therapy field after a seminar about shoulder rehabilitation in tennis players. The presenter used virtual simulations to show how much force was placed on each part of the rotator cuff muscles during different tennis swings and how to help an injured athlete return to the sport they love.

Following the conference Jon looked for how he could begin gaining the skills physical therapists use to help their patients.  His assertiveness led to work opportunities as a physical therapist aide, kinesiology and physiology tutor, personal trainer, massage therapist, online fitness coach, and massage therapy instructor while completing his bachelor’s and doctorate degrees. During his doctorate degree Jon had the unique opportunity of completing 4 physical therapy rotations in orthopedics with focuses in manual therapy and sports rehabilitation.

Jon believes that a healthcare provider should “match the message” and does so by engaging in physical recreation such as martial arts, weightlifting and dancing.

Dr. Jon is an expert in human movement science and analysis. Ask for a comprehensive movement exam to see what limitations and compensations you might have that are contributing to pain and wasted energy.

Strength Testing & Training
Using portable force measuring software, we measure your muscle strength  to determine what strength deficits and compensations you may have.  This allows for specific exercise programming that makes your workouts more time efficient and effective.

Kinesiology Taping
Kinesiology means “study of movement.” Kinesiology taping can be used as an effective adjunct to therapy by creating a more solid brain-body connection for correcting movement issues.  It can also be used to promote faster healing by improving circulation and decreasing swelling & bruising.

Many second time sport injuries occur from returning to competition before physically ready.  Dr. Jon conducts thorough sport specific examinations to determine an athlete’s readiness for returning to full contact play.

Manual Therapy
